FALL CLASS DESCRIPTIONS 2025-2026
Adult Ballet
This course is designed for adults who are interested in exploring or returning to the art of ballet. Students will work on foundational ballet technique, including barre and center work, while focusing on strength, grace, and flexibility. Participants will develop coordination, balance, and confidence at their own pace.
Ballet I & II (2nd grade and up)
This class introduces students in 2nd grade and above to the fundamentals of classical ballet. Dancers will learn basic positions, simple barre and center work, and build strength, balance, and musicality. By the end of the year, students will have a solid technical foundation and increased confidence.
Ballet III & IV (for students who have completed two years of Ballet I & II and are ready to advance)
This class is designed for dancers ready to build on their foundational skills. Students will refine technique through more complex barre and center combinations while developing musicality, coordination, and expressive movement.
Ballet V & VI (for students who have completed Ballet III & IV and are age 12 or older, ready for pointe or pre-pointe work)
This advanced ballet class prepares students for pointe work and higher-level technique. Dancers will focus on strength, control, precision, and artistry while mastering more challenging combinations. Regular attendance and technical readiness are expected, and auditions are required for acceptance.
Pre-Professional Ballet (auditions required for acceptance)
This program is designed for dedicated dancers preparing for advanced training, competition, or a professional path. Students will work intensively on ballet technique, pointe, variations, and performance skills. Attendance requirements, rehearsal commitments, and a signed contract are required for enrollment.
Variations / Pre Professional (auditions required for acceptance)
This class offers advanced students the opportunity to study and perform classical ballet variations. Dancers will focus on style, character, stage presence, and the artistry needed for solo repertoire. Auditions are required for acceptance.
Pointe & Targeted Technique Preprofessional (auditions required for acceptance)
This specialized class focuses on strengthening technique and precision for dancers already working en pointe. Emphasis is on clear clean technique in the areas of adagio, petit allegro, grand allegro, turns, pointe work and center exercises. Each week’s class will have a different central focus.
Intro to Dance (Ages 8+)
This course is designed for students who are ready to explore the world of dance! Throughout the year, students will learn the foundational techniques of Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, and Hip Hop. Each genre will be taught separately, allowing students to focus on mastering the basics and understanding the unique style and rhythm of each dance form.
By the end of the course, students will have a broad understanding of dance, improve their coordination and flexibility, and build confidence in their abilities.
Kindergarten Exploring Ballet & Tap
This class introduces kindergarten students to ballet and tap basics in a fun, supportive environment. Students will explore simple movements, rhythm, and creative expression while building coordination and musicality.
First Grade Fundamentals of Ballet & Tap
This course helps first-grade students build on their ballet and tap foundation. Students will learn more structured steps and combinations while continuing to develop rhythm, coordination, and confidence.
Creative Ballet & Tap Preschool
A playful introduction to ballet and tap for preschool-aged students. This class encourages coordination, musicality, and a love of movement through imaginative activities and basic steps.
Mommy/Daddy and Me
This course provides a joyful opportunity for young children and their caregivers to explore music, rhythm, and movement together. Activities focus on developing motor skills and encouraging creative expression.
Conditioning (Ages 12+)
This class helps dancers build strength, flexibility, and alignment through targeted exercises that support safe technique and overall fitness.
Pilates (Ages 12+)
Designed to improve core strength, flexibility, and body awareness, this class helps dancers enhance alignment, control, and support for their technique.
Tap I (Ages 8+)
This beginner class introduces students to basic tap technique, rhythms, and musicality. Students will focus on clear sounds, simple combinations, and building confidence.
Tap II (for students who have completed 2 years of Tap I and are age 12 or older. Enrollment may require approval or a recommendation based on previous dance)
Designed for students who have mastered basic tap skills, this class introduces more complex rhythms and combinations, helping dancers refine sound clarity and musical expression.
Jazz I (Ages 8+)
Students will explore jazz technique through isolations, turns, and leaps, while building musicality, strength, and stage presence.
Jazz II (for students who have completed 2 years of Jazz I and are age 12 or older. Enrollment may require approval or a recommendation based on previous dance)
This class builds on jazz fundamentals with more intricate combinations and choreography, helping dancers further develop style and performance skills.
Hip Hop II (for students who have completed 2 years of Hip Hop I and are age 12 or older. Enrollment may require approval or a recommendation based on previous dance)
Students will build on basic hip hop techniques, learning more challenging choreography and freestyle skills. The class promotes rhythm, coordination, and confidence.
Contemporary I (Ages 8+)
An introduction to contemporary dance blending ballet technique with expressive and fluid movement. Dancers will explore floor work, improvisation, and choreography.
Musical Theater (Ages 12+)
Combines dance and acting to help students develop stage presence and storytelling ability through fun, Broadway-style choreography.
Contemporary II (for students who have completed 2 years of Contemporary I and are age 12 or older. Enrollment may require approval or a recommendation based on previous dance)
This class expands on foundational contemporary techniques with more advanced movement phrases, floor work, and expressive choreography. Dancers will deepen their understanding of improvisation, musicality, and performance artistry.
